Yesterday, Ray went to work after breakfast and a shorter walk. I was on the computer for a while. About 10:30, my Dad arrived to work on his computer; he still has no wireless access at his house and may not have it again. He is reluctant to go to Panera without buying something, but doesn't want to buy something there every day. While he was at the dining table, I was working in the kitchen and listening to him tell me about what he was reading in the newspapers. I mixed up some ginger cookies and baked one pan, but put the rest in the freezer. I made myself a sandwich and ate it when he left. Then it was back to the computer. I wrote a short, evocative piece about childhood for my writing workshop. It seemed innocent enough, but I couldn't keep working on it because it made me cry.

I drove to the workshop and enjoyed it very much. People's comments about my work were very supportive. I picked up Ray and took him to my Dad's, where he had parked the truck, said hello to the Captain, and drove home. We had a delicious pork stir-fry with the leftover pork and the last 3 (wormy) bok choys from the garden. I spent almost an hour cleaning the bok choys, but I was glad to use them up in such a tasty way.

I addressed 10 envelopes--it was easy and fun and the gel pen makes my handwriting look pretty good!

Then we headed to Beechwood to see another movie with Becky and Kent, the Artist. It is interesting to watch a black-and-white, almost silent movie that is shot with modern equipment, so the quality of the images is much better than the old ones. It was set in the 20s and the plot was reminiscent of those movies as well. But it does seem a bit limiting and perhaps overly simplistic.  Nonetheless, I enjoyed it. Sadly, I felt the need for a Coke and popcorn. So, I was awake a long time, finished my book, tried to sleep with my mask on, and eventually fell asleep--maybe after 1? Not the best preparation for my job interview today at 10:30!

Meanwhile, Adrian's mother and sister are in the midst of the visa interview process and we should know later today if they will be allowed to attend the wedding or not (why wouldn't they?).
