A very exciting day! The usual walking, eating, computer work. My Dad was here for lunch and then planted onions--yay!

I had two job interviews. I went off in my suit for the 2:00 interview at the Council on Aging. The director was very enthusiastic and thanked me for applying. I think it went really well. At the end of the interview, I had 20 minutes to write a description of the program, demonstrating computer skills, writing skills, following directions...and hopefully giving me an edge!

Then I drove to my second interview with Babies Can't Wait. The Public Health director is a real character. I know him slightly. He is doing great work in Athens to reduce teen pregnancy and other health concerns. He asked me if I smoked or if I ever smoked and told me the rate is going down. He asked me where I lived (what my commute would be) and if I was sick a lot. I am not sure he can legally ask all those questions. Then he asked why I wanted the job and what characteristics I had that would help me. He asked me, Hardworking? Of course, I said yes. Organized? I said yes. "how are you organized?" Then he wanted me to recite my resume from memory--he asked about my education and experience. I am sure that is something he can do easily, with his "statistics" brain, but I have trouble keeping track of what year it was that I started at the Food Bank, for instance. He asked what my future would be (a question I am often asked, "where do you see yourself in three years?). I said I wanted to do this work or similar work until I retired. He asked me when is that. I said 8-10 years.

Anyway, I felt really good about both of them. It is hard to convince myself that, just because I had good interviews for three jobs does not mean that I will get any of them. There are lots of other good people out there looking for work.

Meanwhile, I got a call from the car dealership and our title was ready, so I went to the tag office and got it--had to pay almost $300, but we are registered until March 2013.

Then I drove home, made some quick supper for the Kenney Ridge potluck (garbanzo bean stew), got the chickens in, fed the pigs, and went to the community center. I had fun playing with my young friends Adah and Soli and enjoyed my dinner very much. Fiona is working at Subway and is available to help at the wedding. Ray met me there.

At home, we watched some TV and were in bed before 10. When I woke up this morning, I was still wearing my mask and didn't reallize it was already morning.
